ACIM: the model for how to think. (p. 99). Its lessons are designed to transfer our focus and dependence from the thinking mind (head) into the heart. (see, e.g., “YOU are the work of God, and His work is wholly lovable and wholly loving. This is how a man MUST think of himself in his heart, because this is what he is.” p. 5).
Atonement: At-one-ment. An act of love. “A pure act of sharing.” (p.104).
The Lesson of the Atonement: the knowledge that “Nothing real can be threatened.” (p.1).
Atoning: means “undoing” (p. 4). It is the undoing of the belief in separation/duality.
Consciousness: the level of mind “which engages in the world.” (p. 5). “the first split.” (p. 50). “the domain of the ego.” (p. 50).
Ego: roughly equivalent to the thinking mind. “the belief of the mind that it is completely on its own.” (p. 73). “device for maintaining [the] belief” that you are separate. (p. 86).
Fear: contraction; belief in separation. All fear comes from the denial of the true authorship of the Self. (p.62).
Forgiveness: recognition of oneness. “the healing of the perception of separation.” (p. 59) the knowledge that all is well all the time.
Guilt: projection of responsibility for sight or (denial of the error in our thinking/belief and the projection of that onto others). (p. 19). This is the same as the “I am bad” thought or unworthiness. The belief that something outside of me can have an effect on me.
Holy Spirit: roughly equivalent to the guidance of the heart; “nothing more than your own right mind.” (p. 94); “Universal Inspiration” (p.94) “The shared Inspiration of all the Sonship.” (p.95); “The spirit of joy.” (p.96).
Judgment: “the process on which perception … rests.” (p.59). “Implies the belief that reality is yours to choose FROM.” (p.60). Discerning differences where there are none.
Love: extension of our true self. (p. 554) A state of “wholeness.” (p. 92).
Miracle: the thought or belief in wholeness (no lack, no limitation, no needs). The “fusion or union of will between Father and Son.” (p.96). A miracle restores the awareness of reality. “Accurate perception.” P.50-51. “The miracle perceives everything AS IT IS.” (p.51).
Projection: fundamental law of creation; way of “seeing” or relating to the world that results in either extension of love or expression of lack of love/scarcity/deprivation. (p.163)
Perception: Projection makes perception. The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more. It is a cause, not an effect (p. 499).
Purification: Release of false beliefs. (see, e.g., p. 103).
Separation: Duality/the belief that we are not one whole indivisible being. (see, pp. 20-23).
Sharing: extension; “God’s way of creating, and also yours.” (p.104).
The World: a teaching device for bringing you home. (p.102).
