The Fellowship of Awakening- January 29, 2014

Greetings Teacher of God,

We are building the cornerstones of our Heart Temple. We are forging these ideas so they can hold up the foundation we're going to build everything else upon. We've been looking at the the world with eyes wide open this week. What do we look at? What do we see? Do I know what to do with what is in front of me?

23. I can escape the world I see by giving up attach thoughts.

24. I do not perceive my own best interests.

25. I do not know what anything is for.

26. My attach thoughts are attaching my invulnerability.

27. Above all else I want to see.

28. Above all else I want to see things differently.

29. God is in everything I see.

I want to escape from the world of fear I think is real. I have to let go of the way I think it's supposed to be including the way I think I'm supposed to be. I don't always know what to do, or what to say to be happy. When I try to manipulate others and the world around me I'm really trying to hurt myself. I want to see the world and my place in it without fear and anxiety. As I learn that God is in me, the world reflects God in everything I see.

We're up to Chapter 4: Illusions of the Ego! We're going to look at Section 5: This Need Not Be. Do you think that you're happening to the world, or do you think the world is happening to you? Are you aware that thoughts are actually chosen? Most of us aren't conscious of this. When we listen to another person and change our minds about something we do this. When we learn something new we do this. Why do we think that some thoughts are thrown at us and some we choose? Do you know the habits of your mind? Do you spend the day attacking yourself and torturing others with your judgement? If we're not feeling well it's our responsibility and no one else's. Is your mind flexible enough to change? grow? expand? Unhappiness, sadness and depression need not be when we learn to choose our thoughts.

Explanation of Images:
We often have a face, an identity that we are very comfortable with and one perhaps that the world  s comfortable with. We learned how to construct this identity from family and friends when  we grew up and even learned the ‘rules’ of how to be worthy of affection and attention. Who we are  isn’t the problem, the Course is teaching us, it’s the Identity we learned that we think is us.  Shedding this false self with it’s rules and regulations is the key to experiencing the overflowing joy  of our Creator. The Light from our creator shows us the truth of who we are and leads us away from the false dark self into living as the light. We are naturally loving and lovable; we are learning to place our Identity as Children of the Light.
