The Fellowship of Awakening: August 7, 2014

Teachers of God,

How's your foundation coming? We're almost done. When we see each other next we'll be on to the first question in the rest of the year's lessons. What is Forgiveness? I kind of think about this as the Entry Way or Foyer to the 12 Halls. So Build your foundations right and we'll put on them an understanding of forgiveness to start.

We're on my favorite chapter. Chapter 19: The Attainment of Peace. This week we're going to look at the foundations to this peace. There are two concepts that we must be clear on before we can talk about the obstacles to peace. The first is healing and it's relationship to faith. The second is a clear understanding of what sin is and it's relationship to error. Have you ever been around someone that left you with more energy? Have you ever had a mentor, coach or teacher that saw the greatness and creativity and skill inherent in you before you did? Do you have a friend that just doesn't know know how great they are? In order for us to support the healing in others we have to abandon that the idea that there is something wrong with them. We hurt when we let our selves down. We make mistakes, we're learning and growing. Is it okay to fail? Can we know that the perfection we seek is inherent in our being as the Children of God? Do we think we're doing irreparable harm?

Explanation of Images:

Healing is possible when we have faith in the unseen. We actually have a lot of experience in this. We can’t see the wind, electricity or even our friend’s heart beat. Can we be belief in their health and well being? In our own unseen health and abundance? That is the prerequisite for healing ourselves and others, to never allow ourselves to act as though the other person has finally found a way to break reality. When we hurt it’s often because we’ve discovered an error in our thinking and can choose to correct it. It’s never the case that we have broke God and our lives and lives of our friends and family are not able to heal and grow. We’re reaching for Peace. These are the prerequisites of understanding the Obstacles to Peace.
